  • Updated Minecraft assets to 1.21.11 - Mounts of Mayhem.
    • Support for multi-axis rotation in JSON block model elements.
  • Camera FOV now accepts decimal inputs.
  • Camera Blade angle now accepts decimal inputs.
  • Block/model search now places matching states at the top of the lists instead of filtering out everything else.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed items not appearing correctly with resource packs applied.
  • Fixed crash from attempting to use certain context menu actions on non-existent timelines.
  • Fixed being able to "Download from Minecraft user..." on material and normal textures of custom models.

    • Disabling this allows the texture to stretch with the length of the path.

  • Updated Minecraft assets to 1.21.5 - Spring to Life.
  • Sizes for the block, animated block, and vanilla item texture sheets are now defined in the .midata file.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed texture offsets and repeats on the sides of cylinders, cones, and spheres starting from 25% of the texture's length.
    • Slightly changes how textures are applied to these shapes.
  • Fixed the horizontal texture offset option not working on the tops/bottoms of unmapped cylinders and cones.
  • Fixed textures on non-smooth spheres not appearing correctly.

Features

  • Added custom project thumbnails.
    • Customize the image that accompanies a project on the Home screen.
    • Accessible through the Project settings tab.
  • Added "Play / Stop animation" keybind to set the playhead to its starting position when paused (Shift + Space).
    • Mimics the behavior of the Play / Pause keybind before Mine-imator 2.0.

Changes

  • Updated Minecraft assets to 1.21.3.
    • New Bundles, Banner Pattern items, Redstone Torch.
    • Support for 'light_emission' block model element tag.
  • The "Select all" option will no longer select filtered timelines (ghosts, color tags, search query).
  • The "Select keyframes..." options in the timeline context menu will no longer select keyframes in filtered timelines.
  • Objects with a parent and no keyframes will now always stay at 0,0,0 instead of reverting to their original position values.
  • The frame editor tab's title will now show the selected keyframe's position instead of always showing the playhead's position.
    • Selecting multiple keyframes will make it show the number of selected keyframes instead.
  • Renamed "Play animation" keybind to "Play / Pause animation".

Bugfixes

  • Fixed shapes with camera textures not being able to use render mode.
    • Known limitation: Camera textures can only display 1 sample.
  • Fixed timeline markers being duplicated after importing keyframes and reloading the project.
  • Fixed awkward behavior when zooming the timeline in or out during playback with auto-scroll enabled.
  • Fixed awkward behavior when middle-click dragging the timeline during the zooming animation.
  • Fixed maximum timeline scroll length ignoring timeline markers.

Features

  • Added real-time particle previewing.
    • Particle spawners will now create real-time particles when their editor is open.
    • The "Spawn particles" keybind (X) once again has immediate results (when an editor is open).
    • Real-time particles cannot be rendered, and will disappear when the editor is closed.
  • Added "Mapped texture" option for paths.
  • Paths can now be affected by wind.
  • Added "Open folder" option after exporting a movie or image.

  • Redesigned path timeline tab.
  • Texture animation speed property is now measured in frames per second.
  • Changed default scale snapping value to 0.25 (from 1).

  • Fixed crash when using text as particles.

Features

  • Added "Smooth" option for cones, cylinders, and spheres.
  • Added 'texture_scroll' tags for .mimodel parts and shapes:
    • 'texture_scroll_speed': The percentage of the texture's max width/height to scroll through per second.
    • 'texture_scroll_direction': The angle in which the texture will move.
    • A shape/part must have a texture defined to it for texture scrolling to work (cannot be inherited from base model).

Changes

  • Updated Minecraft assets to 1.21.
  • Paths can now have material and normal maps applied to them.
  • Adjusted clouds to better match their appearance in Minecraft.
  • Improved quality of the background fog.

  • Updated F12 debug menu.
    • Hovering over the debug menu now makes it slightly more transparent.
    • F12 now cycles between debug menu states: off, basic FPS counter, and full.
    • Shift + F12 now cycles which corner of the window the debug menu appears in.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed banners and player heads in 1.20.5 worlds not importing correctly.
  • Fixed glow effect on hashed objects not appearing correctly.
  • Fixed text object characters and outlines getting cut off in certain cases.
