publicInputs.length + proof.length is already the size in bytes
is bufferLength measured in number of field elements or number of bytes?

its the number of field elements - i checked the value of the first 4 bytes of the proof we have now
I should rename the variable bufferLength. It is not the 4 bytes from Buffer serializer like the original comment said - that is already handled in the internal method that calls the wasm. Looks like this is an additional field length explicitly added from bb
don't think its used in bb though...proof verification passes irrespective of the length you put there

Fixes #11829 - Remove first 4 bytes from proof (metadata - length of "proof + PI" in fields) returned from `UltraHonkBackend.generateProof()` - `proof` returned is now 14080 bytes (440 fields) and can be directly verified in solidity Note: `proof` output from bb CLI also includes the size metadata in the first 4 bytes. Fixes #11829 - Remove first 4 bytes from proof (metadata - length of "proof + PI" in fields) returned from `UltraHonkBackend.generateProof()` - `proof` returned is now 14080 bytes (440 fields) and can be directly verified in solidity Note: `proof` output from bb CLI also includes the size metadata in the first 4 bytes. proofoutput from bb CLI also includes the size metadata in the first 4 bytes. This should go away with #11024
