Verdant Spores are a type of Aether spore that grows into vines when reacting with water.

Reaction to Water

When reacting with water, Verdant spores produce a Verdant spore growth. It grows extremely quickly, unless it is the result of a re-catalyzation. The duration and size of its growth depends on the amount of Verdant spores and water present.

Spore Growth

Verdant spore growths grow in twisting patterns that stretch towards the sky. They prefer to wrap around blocks, and can easily tear through wooden structures. It consists of four spore growth blocks:

  • Verdant Vine Block: A full block, and the thickest part of the vine. Mineable with an Axe.
  • Verdant Vine Branch: A thinner block that connects to blocks in any cardinal direction. Mineable with an Axe.
  • Verdant Vine Snare: Ensnares mobs like Cobwebs, though only reduces speed by 50% instead of 75%. Mineable with a Sword, Axe, or Shears.
    • Can be potted in a Flower Pot.
  • Twisting Verdant Vines: Climbable, and can grow upwards or downwards. Mineable with a Sword, Axe, or Shears.
    • Can be potted in a Flower Pot.

Killing Mobs

If killed by Verdant Spores, mobs turn into a small tree of Verdant Vine Snares upon death. If killed while in the Verdant Sea, they instead turn into a larger spore growth.

Verdant Vines

When broken, Verdant spore growth blocks drop Verdant Vines. These items are edible as an emergency snack, though they are not very nutritious. In addition, they can be used to add a fuse to Spore cannonballs, making them detonate after a certain delay.

Verdant Vines can be composted, with a 30% chance to add a layer of compost.

Verdant Vines can also be crafted into Verdant Vine Blocks.
